




College of Law at Wasit University Organizes a Training Course on the Role of International Law in Promoting Sustainable Development Goals
The College of Law at Wasit University organized a training course on the role of law in promoting Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with the participation of faculty members, students, and staff. The course spanned three days.
The primary objective of the course was to highlight the role of international law in promoting SDGs through legal frameworks, including relevant treaties, agreements, and international resolutions.
The course covered several key topics, presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Taqi Fadhil, Lecturer Dr. Muhannad Ajab Jundail, Lecturer Ibrahim Mohsen Jabr, and Asst. Lecturer Karrar Abdul-Hassan Wali. These topics included the concept of sustainable development, the promotion of SDGs, and the role of international law in their implementation.
The training course concluded with several key recommendations, including: enhancing the effective implementation of international agreements through regulatory mechanisms, fostering broad international cooperation, updating national laws to align with international standards for sustainable development, and strengthening the role of international organizations and the United Nations in monitoring the achievement of these goals.
