As part of its ongoing efforts to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Wasit University participated in the Amarah Scout Camp for the Wood Badge Training, held in Maysan Governorate. This participation reflects the university’s commitment to achieving Goal 4 of the SDGs: “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.” The activity contributed to developing the students’ leadership and educational skills through specialized scout training programs that focus on national values and a sense of social responsibility.
This participation also highlights the institutional cooperation between various governmental bodies, particularly the Ministries of Education and Higher Education, which aligns with Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals. Furthermore, by preparing and qualifying young scout leaders capable of contributing to the building of a peaceful and engaged society, the university also supports Goal 16, which aims to “promote peace, justice, and strong institutions.”
Recognizing the importance of such activities in enhancing students’ capabilities and leadership skills, Wasit University continues to support student participation in scout and educational events that foster values of citizenship and national belonging.
By commending this valuable experience, the university reaffirms its ongoing commitment to building effective partnerships that contribute to achieving an inclusive and sustainable educational environment.
