










Wasit University and Imam Hassan (A.S.) Procession Support “No Poverty” Goal with Iftar Banquet for Dormitory Students
As part of their commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 1: “No Poverty,” the Imam Hassan (A.S.) Procession, affiliated with the Husayni Rituals Representation in Wasit Province, in collaboration with Wasit University, organized a collective Iftar banquet for dormitory students, providing support to those facing economic challenges in their educational journey.
The event was attended by the President of Wasit University, Prof. Dr. Abbas Lafta Knihir Al-Aqabi, the Administrative Affairs Assistant, Dr. Mohammed Shehab, the Director of University Dormitories, and several representatives of the Husayni Rituals Office in the province. This initiative reaffirmed the values of social solidarity and cooperation, aligning with the university’s and the community’s efforts to support low-income groups and ensure dignified living conditions for students.
Students expressed their gratitude for this generous initiative, which alleviated some of their financial burdens and recreated a familial atmosphere during the holy month of Ramadan. A representative of the procession emphasized that this effort reflects the humanitarian principles of justice and support for the needy, inspired by the values of Imam Hussain (A.S.).
Prof. Dr. Abbas Lafta Knihir Al-Aqabi reaffirmed Wasit University’s ongoing commitment to fostering social solidarity and collaborating with various organizations to promote sustainable development and improve the quality of life for students and the wider community.
